PROVENANCE / LICENSE / TRANSFORMATION

Nothing enters unlabelled.

Twenty-two Met Open Access objects are installed with canonical records, accession numbers, captions, alt text and direct source files. Authorized video remains embedded; restricted material remains link-only.

Media dispositions

Installed + downloadable: Public Domain/CC0 objects with a canonical institutional record. Authorized embed: media presented through the source platform’s player. Link-only: educational or archival material without a verified reuse grant. A successful URL is not a license.

Corrections and takedown

Use the repository’s public correction and takedown forms. Do not include personal, confidential, medical or otherwise sensitive information; provide only what is needed to identify the page, claim or asset.

REUSE BOUNDARY

The site’s composition is not a blanket license for its sources.

Follow the rights statement attached to each item. Article links, metadata and quoted titles do not make third-party figures or media reusable. Package-level CSV and JSON ledgers preserve the exact disposition.

Every public media file: provenance inventory ↧ Publication register ↧ Permission workflow ↧

The inventory distinguishes public-source documentary images from original evidence graphics and deterministic editorial composites. It records a SHA-256 hash, canonical source, creator, institution, rights state, direct relevance, transformation and non-AI basis for every installed media file.
